I am currently a freshman at George Brown College for carpentry and renovation making efforts to specialize in residential construction and framing which are the trades I find I am most passionate about. I first discovered my liking of residential construction in the later years of high school where we worked on processes of building houses, entry level plumbing and electrical work. After these courses and my new found interest in hands on trade work I did jobs consisting of roofing (metal and shingling), small carpentry projects (building decks, small reno jobs) and got experience with some welding and cement work. In our carpentry and renovation at George Brown College we practice safely and properly building things such as small sheds, small rooms with metal framing and concrete forms. All of these projects heavy emphasis is put on following safety regulations and building code requirements. In these projects I was able to use past experience to complete these projects efficiently and properly always focusing a lot of my energy on precision and attention to detail.In the future years I hope to find a nice job preferably with a focus on residential construction where I can do the work I enjoy doing with nice kind people around me building a positive and efficient atmosphere having good workers who are not only great at their job but also at teamwork and communication. Which would ideally be the type of atmosphere for me to work my best and thrive in.
