I grew up in a small town in the heart of the least populated state in America; but what it lacked in population, it made up for in mountains, rivers, and seemingly endless terrain that tested me and instilled the values that made me who I am today. After high school I knew that I needed a broader perspective. I studied hard and found myself at NYU where I worked to hone a more global viewpoint by concentrating in sociology while testing my limits physically on the varsity diving team.When I graduated, the time came to choose whether to stay in New York or to take a chance. That chance came when an opportunity to work for Euroadventures, a premier provider of cultural and adventure travel for student groups, emerged in Italy.At Euroadventures, I was the lead guide for groups of 30-200 students throughout dozens of European countries. Over time, my responsibilities grew to involve marketing operations and managing the Barcelona branch of the company. Throughout the ancient cities and monuments I visited, I also realized an interest in videography and video-editing that I might not have otherwise.This hobby that I nurtured throughout my travels turned out to be the link that emboldened me to seek a position at GoPro. I was thrilled when I was taken on as part of their team, even at the customer support level, because it meant that I would learn about the company and its products in the most in-depth way possible. That knowledge lead me to be promoted to join the Lifestyle Marketing Team focusing on events and brand partnerships, and coordinating events that were meant to communicate the ethos of the GoPro brand to a global audience. One thing that remains constant for me is that learning and progression exists everywhere — in the smallest mountain town, and in the most densely populated cities — if you push yourself to always be looking for it. I hope to never be too proud to work as part of a team, and never to humble to step out of my comfort zone.
