Everyone has a unique story. Mine began on a Registered Angus cattle ranch in northwest Missouri. I grew up working on my family farm and pursuing a career in the agriculture industry.In college, I discovered my passion for science (biology, microbiology, and chemistry) as I participated in NASA’s undergraduate research program as a fellow working in a variety of capacities from public relations to co-authoring original research. Through the NASA grant, I was selected for an elite internship at the USDA-ARS working alongside top researchers on federally funded studies to improve environmental sustainability. My internship led to a job as a research assistant at the USDA-ARS and co-authorship on a published peer-reviewed journal article. At Oral Roberts University, my interests shifted to behavioral sciences, neurobiology, and counseling. I honed my skills in mental health counseling, treatment planning, academic writing, and research design. Presently, I am a licensure candidate in Oklahoma, and I am working as an embedded school therapist in Tulsa Public Schools. Additionally, I am working toward my certification as a Registered Play Therapist and Infant Mental Health specialist.
