I am a highly motivated student studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honors) at Griffith University that is currently in 2nd year. Being exposed to the engineering field at an early stage, working casually as a Junior civil designer, I have learnt to acknowledge and obey the basic engineering practices followed by senior engineers on a day to day basis.Currently working as a Junior Civil Designer for SAYOUNGENTERPRISES Pty Ltd, I have learnt to develop valuable skills and knowledge by using various Microsoft products and AutoCAD software. Being responsible for 2D drafting services and manifesting an assortment of engineering plans for a variety of clients and job types. Through this casual form of experience, I am developing knowledge and skill based learning in industry that is one of the pivotal elements of the stage 1 competencies outlined by Engineers Australia. For me, the most important aspects I have learned was conducting myself professionally during a range projects at university. Whether that be effectively leading the group project or communicating both orally and written with group members, I believe I have developed a professional demeanor that is necessary for discussing with stakeholders and clients in industry. When I graduate I hope to further develop these skills and utilize them in my future job as I believe obtaining these professional attributes are an important element in producing high-quality projects through communication and professional mannerisms which in term will produce a desirable reputation for myself and assist in building strong connections with peers and colleagues which is a vital element to success in engineering. For my future in industry, I have always wanted to have a significant involvement on developing large-scale infrastructural projects that are people orientated. I think one of the main motivations for me to succeed in engineering is giving back to the community. Hence, I would like to be involved in a large-scale industry that has been involved in the development of important infrastructure that people value and frequently use as I believe people's comfort and opinions matter.
