Originally from a small town called Truckee in the mountains of California, I began to develop my long time value of being a great teammate, competing in sports like baseball, alpine ski racing, and swimming. I turned my focus to primarily swimming, where I developed my talent and skill to eventually be recruited to become a NCAA Division I swimmer at Florida State, and the University of Utah where I completed the remainder of my swimming career. At the University of Utah I had the support to accomplish a number of my athletic goals and became a three time All-American and Olympic Trials qualifier. I also spent time focusing on personal development in terms of leadership, interpersonal relationships, and academic success. Throughout my academic career, I have been able to develop my interests in wilderness medical care and rescue, fire fighting skills, and emergency medicine. Having worked multiple seasons as a wildland firefighter, I have learned what it takes to be a safe, effective, supportive team member and leader, as well as my appreciation for giving back to my community. In my off seasons, I work as a swim coach for Olympus Aquatics. I have loved passing on the skills and passion for swimming onto the next generation of swimmers. I aspire to work full time as a firefighter and for a department that will not only help me give back to the community, but one I can give back to in return.
