I went to James Madison University where I earned my degree in Business Management and minor in Finance. There I was a scholarship athlete as a member of the JMU football team. After school and football I decided to go into a family business. I learned over the course of my first year that this was not something I was looking to do for the rest of my life. I was as most people are right out of school looking for a career not just a job.I found Financial Independence Group a small Marketing Organization out of Cornelius, NC by way of a referral from a friend I grew up with. I met the founders of FIG and we immediately hit it off. I started a week later as an Annuity Marketing Consultant where I started and found my career in the Financial Services Industry. Over the course of the next 6 years I was blessed and fortunate enough to work with some of the top Financial Advisors in the country. I built a book of business from scratch and became one of the top Annuity Marketing Consultants in the country. In 2009 my dear friend and current CMO at the time passed away at the young age of 37 of lung cancer. This gentleman was not only the CMO but a third owner in the business and the succession plan of the organization aswell. At this time someone needed to step in and help this company move forward. I decided to walk away from being a marketing consultant and accept the responsibility and role of being the CMO here at FIG. As CMO I have developed such a passion for this industry. To know that you are working with thousands of financial advisors across the country who are helping families protect their hard earned money is very fulfilling. Most people search a lifetime to find something they love to do, I feel very fortunate to have found just that at a young age. If you asked most people what they love about their job they would have a tough time answering. I don't have this problem because to me its not a job its a way of life!
