Cor Shaffer has over 20 yrs of design, construction, regulatory, management, and operations experience in the water industry. He is a registered civil engineer, T5 operator and just obtained his D4 certification. Cor has worked for CDPH for over 9 yrs in SD, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Imperial County and Orange County. Prior to working for CDPH, Cor worked for Montgomery Watson Harza Consulting Engineers designing water reclamation facilities and conducting recycled water use site studies. Cor also worked as a plant and construction manager for the R. M. Levy 100 MGD plant expansion project and $26 M Ozone upgrade for Helix Water District. Cor is currently the Operations Manager for Santa Fe Irrigation District and oversees the operation and maintenance of a 40 MGD conventional water treatment plant and operation of the Districts 160 mile distribution system. Cor’s 38 member operations/maintenance team has conducted over 180 treatment and 70 distribution system studies in the last 4 years that has improved the treatment plants ability to treat challenging local water supplies, comply with more stringent regulatory requirements, managed distribution system pressures and water quality, optimize the use of water by District customers, reduce operational costs, and enhanced system reliability.
