I am Cora Sims, a dedicated contributor to the Paducah arts and educational landscape, where I hold roles as the owner of ElevateU Studios and a Program Facilitator for an out-of-school youth program at West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC). My passion for creativity, rooted in my childhood, has led to a diverse career encompassing various forms of artistic expression and mentorship.My educational journey includes a Bachelor's degree from Murray State University. My creative path was ignited in childhood, starting with writing from the age of five. However, it was in 2017, following a period of personal loss, that I fully embraced art as a form of expression and healing.As an artist, I have delved into multiple mediums including jewelry making, crafting, digital art, acrylic painting, graphic design, writing, and, most recently, fashion. My versatility as an artist is evident through my work at ElevateU Studios and my contributions to the Paducah art community. Additionally, I am a published author, releasing a book of poetry titled "And Then He Was Gone" under the pen name C. Roshell in 2018, which captures my personal experiences and the healing power of art.In my position at WKCTC, I am dedicated to empowering youth through creative education and mentorship, developing programs that inspire young individuals to discover and express their artistic talents. I believe in the transformative power of art for healing, expression, and community engagement. Through my roles at ElevateU Studios and WKCTC, I strive to foster inclusive environments where everyone can explore and enhance their creative abilities.
