"What do you want to be when you grow up?" It's common for a child to deviate from their ill-advised answer to this question. Progressing through the school system provides opportunities for specialization. Different interests and experiences of a child slowly shape them from what they want to be into what they are. As a kid, I had many ideas of what I wanted to be. Even now, I can see myself in different careers.My mechanical engineering degree shows my work ethic and skillset. More important than my degree is my belief. I love STEM, problem-solving, and tech-related subjects but ultimately I believe in helping the world move forward and creating a better place for future generations. I've set out to do this through engineering. Technological advancements have connected people across the globe, improved the quality and longevity of people's lives, and enabled a wealth of knowledge to be accessed at the touch of a button. I know there is always room for improvement, and I will contribute to the innovation moving forward. Maybe the question shouldn't be "What do you want to be?" but instead: "What do you believe in?"
