Hey, I am currently a second year environmental engineering student studying at the University of Waikato. Currently in New Zealand huge amounts of "waste/rubbish" are generated every year, and my primary goal once graduated is to try and reuse or repurpose these items/materials.Throughout my two years of university I have worked in many group projects many of which leaned into the Net Zero Carbon goals. These various group projects have increased my technical skills through use of a range of power tools, and software as well as my interpersonal skills such as communication, and teamwork. Outside of university I am a shift manager, and have volunteered at an age care facility both of which provide me opportunities to communicate, and understand a wide range of demographics. Being a shift manager provides me an insight into how large businesses run, along with the ability to manage, and lead a group of people.Apart from work and study I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, and in particular water activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming. I have grown up around the beach, and therefore have an appreciation for the ecosystem. I however also want to see this environment protected and kept clean which is why I want to aid in cleaning this area through engineering principles.
