Serving in a hybrid capacity in both a senior analytical role supporting category management strategies and in an indirect-sourcing management role, I was able to develop comprehensive global sourcing strategies that ensured optimal value to the firm, efficient vendor relationship management, and sustainability throughout the supply chain.From a sourcing analytics perspective, I proactively managed the complete spend, market environment, and supply chain implications analysis of ~$120M in global HR, Marketing, and Logistics spend identifying where scarce procurement resources can be most effectively utilized. This coveted GRA assignment is awarded to one (1) Supply Chain Management concentration MBA candidate per class and provides a unique opportunity to combine real world business and academic experience.As a key member of Y‐12’s staff, I took an active and significant role in increasing the analysis and decision making process related to Y‐12’s business efforts. Responsibilities included: (1) managing and researching Y‐12 technologies and their commercial potential, (2) interacting with potential investors of Y‐12 technologies, and (3) performing comprehensive business plan studies (such as metric, financial, and operational analyses) to support key Y‐12 decisions. As part of my MBA program’s curriculum, a team of MBA’s are partnered with a local non-profit facing particular business obstacles to provide a collaborative consulting assignment aimed at (1.) granting students with external consulting experience with actual clients facing real-world business dilemmas, and (2.) affording local non-profit organizations the opportunity to leverage innovative problem solving, project management, and consultative advice from a team of MBA consultants with diverse skill sets and backgrounds.During this semester long consulting assignment, our team presented weekly debriefings to board directors, worked closely with company executives, and communicated with external stakeholders that may be impacted by our proposals. With the goal of increasing brand awareness and increasing revenue from commercial real-estate sales, our client was in a tough position competing with for-profit firms with more resources and flexibility.Through weekly debriefing meetings with company executives, our team presented our research and recommended approach to solving the client’s prevailing issues. At the conclusion of the assignment, we were successfully able to influence the executives and board directors to implement a new branding strategy which relied on marketing analytics to drive strategies that ultimately increases brand awareness and sales.

In this role, I served in a multifaceted capacity managing the sourcing strategy/budget for multiple manufacturing sites, leading supply chain process improvement initiatives across the enterprise, and consulting internal personnel during changes of company supply chain technologies. I directly owned the responsibility of strategically sourcing the entire portfolio of production raw-materials for manufacturing sites in Georgia and Kansas, a budget of ~$10M in annual direct spend, including everything from multi-million dollar petro-chemical/plastic resin contracts to one-off buys of a specialty pigment or additive. Working closely with manufacturing mangers at both sites, I was able to develop more accurate forecasting than had previously been achieved resulting in higher inventory turns and ultimately lower inventory levels overall.Along with my strategic sourcing responsibilities, I led multiple enterprise wide supply chain process-improvement projects resulting in cost savings, inventory reductions, on-time shipment improvements, and vendor complexity reduction. Results of some of these projects were:• 20% YOY increase of on-time shipments from implementation of raw material Kanban system• 17% reduction of raw material inventory from better utilizing existing WMS technology • $80,000 annual savings and reduced vendor complexity from enterprise wide RFP of MRO/PPE supplies Furthermore, I served as an internal consultant working with new employees to get them up to speed on company ERP, WMS (Warehouse Management System), and IT systems. I was also on the ‘ramp-up’ consulting team that would perform on-site consultations with employees at newly acquired manufacturing facilities training them on company procedures and on the systems outlined above.I also served in a de facto capacity as the supply chain manager for our smaller sister company, Techmer Engineer Solutions, managing strategic sourcing, inventory management, and import/export logistics.
