As Coordinator of Local Climate Action at ADENE, Portuguese Energy Agency, Sofia is the lead contact of the agency as the National Coordination of the Covenant of Mayors in Portugal. ADENE's activities to support regions and cities in climate action planning include training & capacity building, and partnerships with national and international stakeholders to develop and disseminate tools and expertise.

ADENE is the chair of the European Energy Network (EnR) in 2022, bringing together 24 national energy agencies from European countries in 8 thematic Working Groups. The 2022 EnR Presidency will produce several studies and publications, highlighting the role of energy agencies in topics like green jobs, water-energy nexus, energy poverty, renewable energy communities and EU-Africa Cooperation. These will contribute to the European agenda, namely to #EUGreenDeal, #RenovationWave, #EUSkillsAgenda, #EUAfricaPartnership.
