I am responsible for overseeing all aspects of Ascension Wisconsin Foundation’s development operations, including prospect research, donor communications and stewardship, grateful patient program, financial reconciliation and management, and donor data management. I have primary responsibility for supervising the operations team and implementing process improvement initiatives within the operations department.

As manager of The Ascension Wisconsin Grants Office, I am charged with creating a statewide grants office to centralize all non-research grant activity within Wisconsin. I direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for grant activities in order to build capacity, generate revenue, and enhance programs for our health ministries.

• Secured over $800,000 in grants from state agencies and corporate and community foundations to enhance community and patient services at Ascension Wisconsin hospitals and clinics• Facilitated expansion of Recovery Coach program from four hospital emergency departments to all Ascension hospitals across central and southern Wisconsin • Created a community benefits team to align Fox Valley foundation giving with hospital priorities, community needs and public health determinants. I implemented steps to give back over $225,000 annually to collaborative initiatives in the area that impact mental/behavioral health, victims of sexual assault and promote healthy living. I currently serve on the Community Impact Council to further these efforts statewide.• Led strategic planning efforts to create new policies, procedures and mission statement for internal allocations to hospitals and clinics within Ascension. Created tools that will be disseminated for statewide use.• Managed a multi-year, $1.5 million grant project bringing telemedicine equipment to rural hospitals and clinics across northern Wisconsin.

This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the 21st CLC extended-day learning programs. As director, I led the development of 21st CLC related grant applications, submitted state and federal reports, and prepared and monitored the 21st CLC budget. I managed an advisory committee, and served on district and department leadership teams, as appropriate.Major accomplishments:• Moved CLC director and site coordinator positions from part-time employees, contracted through CESA, to full-time positions within the Oshkosh Area School District with benefits and increased pay.• Expanded programming model throughout district. Started third elementary program at Emmeline Cook Elementary in 2012, with a total budget of $250,000 serving approximately 200 students. At time of departure, programming served over 1,000 students up through grade 12 at eight sites with a budget over $1.2 million.• Developed staff training model designed to professionalize the youth development worker and provide necessary tools and support for approximately 75 CLC employees• Worked with school and community leaders to diversify funding, create sustainable partnerships, provide family programming based on conducted needs assessments and maximize resources to maintain high quality out-of-school programming for students• Collaborated with CLC team, parents, and community members to foster an enthusiasm for learning in student participants and their families, with special emphasis on youth who may be struggling academically or have low socioeconomic backgrounds

• Managed grant funds at three elementary schools in the Oshkosh Area School District for 21st Century Community Learning Centers• Built program infrastructure and designed model of sustainability by collaborating with other special projects directors, school leaders, and staff • Developed partnerships with community organizations to deliver hands-on learning opportunities for students• Enhanced family connections by providing opportunities for parents to learn how to better support students’ social/emotional growth and academic pursuits• Expanded fundraising opportunities, including grant proposals and special events, leading to program expansion• Created and implemented out-of-school programming designed to lead approximately 200 participants to academic success• Recruited, developed and led a support staff of over 35 employees, paid, intern and volunteer positions

This position was responsible for researching funding opportunities, preparing and submitting proposals, and tracking their progress from start to finish. After I moved on to the Special Projects Director position, I acted as an independent contractor for overflow projects developing grant proposals for regional and national clients. I composed and submitted over $2,000,000 in state and federal grant proposals.
