  Daily management of operations and strategic planning for a large-scale, research university program with 17,000 students, faculty and staff representing all 50 states and over 80 countries. • Oversee annual operating budget of $500K for in-house labor, contracted services, supplies and equipment and manage over 5 million square feet of building space. • Compile, track and analyze data and metrics related to waste diversion and sustainability efforts for both internal assessment and benchmarking with peer institutions. • Manage and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. • Develop, recommend, and implement strategic initiatives and programming to institutionalize effective materials management and zero waste behavior. • Collaborate and assist with development, design and review for LEED-certified construction and renovation projects to ensure efficient and ergonomically safe materials handling systems, track construction and demo waste (C&D) throughout projects. • Implement and coordinate preventative and deferred maintenance on all equipment and related infrastructure.• Prepare, bid, negotiate and manage vendor contracts. • Identify and launch pilot projects, secure funding opportunities and prepare grant applications to bolster zero waste and sustainability efforts and promote awareness of zero waste. • Act as a resource and provide expert advice on student projects, staff committees and faculty-led courses as it pertains to sustainable materials management, recycling, composting and zero waste efforts. Educate and promote sustainable resource management practices and circular economic principles throughout the campus community. • Work closely with dining services provider to develop, apply and track zero waste concepts within the food system delivery process on campus. • Maintain the UVM Recycling website and social media platforms.
