A habitual student, curious researcher, and conscientious global citizen—my academic and professional journey has purposefully exposed me to a diverse set of thematic areas and experiences. My academic interests have centered around exploring a myriad of themes such as conflict & conflict resolution, international institutions, environmental peacebuilding, genocide, hate groups, post-conflict reconciliation, sport for development and peace, and foreign policy. Buttressed by a historical lens, I have used these thematic areas to better inform my understanding of what causes conflict, how it can be resolved, and methods of prevention. A study abroad experience in the Western Balkans (Kosovo, Montenegro, and Albania) motivated me to fixate my graduate studies at the School of International Service on this fascinating region.Professionally, my experience has ranged from teaching 8-12 year olds tennis to coordinating multi-million dollar development proposals for an array of global clients. I have mentored D1 Student-Athletes to help them better achieve their personal and academic goals, and have evaluated the credentials of healthcare professionals who wish to migrate to the US and obtain licensure. My participation in demanding leadership development programs began when I was 12 years old with the Civil Air Patrol cadet program and culminated with Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) as an officer candidate. This instilled in me: a fierce work ethic; zero-fail attitude; standard of excellence; flexibility; adaptability; integrity; mission first, people always; teamwork; ability to smile through adversity; absolute confidence in my capacity to overcome any challenge. My natural curiosity fuels a never-ending desire to constantly learn new things. Proficiency in multiple foreign languages and computer programming languages and the ability to play multiple musical instruments are all side effects. I am fascinated by the methods state and non-state actors weaponize information and how it particularly impacts public perception towards foreign policy. Additionally, I am completely obsessed with aviation and fully intend to obtain a Private Pilot License in the near future.
