One more step (to a lasting career) Five years ago, I ran a Spartan Race up and down the slopes of Big Bear in California. The race was nearly 15 miles long and was BY FAR the most difficult feat I had ever attempted. Midway through the race, as I looked up at the steep incline in front of me, thoughts of quitting popped into my head with increasing frequency. Moments before giving up, another thought emerged, overshadowing the others. “One more step.”I thought to myself, if I repeatedly take one more step forward, I WILL finish. And I did. After 5 grueling hours, I crossed the finish line. The race was over, but living life through the lens of my newfound perspective was just getting started.“One more step” is one of the guiding principles I apply day-to-day, and I keep it top of mind as I actively seek a company and job where I can apply my education in both Engineering and Pharmacy to a career in project management, sales or where my skills will contribute to the success of an organization. In school, I worked on and led teams, built and maintained strong relationships, developed project plans, delivered outcomes on time, scheduled tasks, and delegated assignments. I have demonstrated effective leadership and have applied my strong communication and time management skills in both school and my current position. For many years, I had the good fortune to be able to fully focus on school as well as all the University of Miami and the University of Michigan had to offer. I am now ready to apply my education and experience to assist an organization in reaching its goals.
