Started at Emergency One as an apprentice, completing a 4 year apprenticeship as a coach builder. I have studied at college for 4 years during my apprenticeship allowing me to get my PDA in fabricating and welding SCQF level 7 as well as my level 3 modern apprenticeship in automotive engineering (commercial and passenger carrying vehicle body building).during my time at Emergency one i have learned a lot of different aspects of the vehicle body building industry especially the manufacturing of fire appliances.•trained in cutting, folding and fabricating different components for customers needs.stripping down cabs interiors and modifying different areas of the cab for thecustomer before carefully rebuilding the interior back up.sub assembled frames, seatbox and stowage box for fitting into cab• snagged vehicles for final inspection•fitted out shelves so that equipment can be safely stored awayI work well in a fast paced environment, ensuring jobs are within budget and keeping within the allocated time frame as well as keeping a safe and clean working environment
