Lean Transformation Manager (Continuous Improvement Project Manager Ii)
Dubuque, Iowa Area
Projects Managed: GDF Lean Implementation liaison. IBM has made a large push to establish a new work center in Dubuque Iowa. Among the major aspects of this decision are major changes in processes and personnel. Thus, a team was brought in to help manage the scope of that work required; the change in process, in personnel, in work environment, etc.My major responsibilities included:GDF Lean Liaison: My role at IBM was to track project status as defined by the organization and Project Charter.• Managed the quality and productivity of six project teams to ensure that systems and process development lifecycles were meeting targets and obtaining their project deliverables. • Facilitated meetings, documented and communicated to key stakeholders• Worked with cross-functional teams to ensure level of effort• Created Schedules and tasks• Planned forward process and actions in detailed project planLean Oversight: Assured the project was a successful part of GDF Implementation by analyzing “current State” value stream mapping, “future state” value stream mapping, defining waste areas, and then applying the appropriate lever to mitigate that risk. We were able to do this by attending daily huddles, speaking with team members at multiple locations, and keeping detailed analysis charts and metrics. A project plan was designed and implemented to track progress. This project went through the planning, executing, and monitoring and controlling phases. We challenged the project in the areas of Risk Management, Scope Management, Defect Prevention, Change Management, Estimating, Budgeting, Resource Planning, etc.. Training Received: I participated in training programs on Lean and GDF Methodologies.
