On June 22, 2006 I was in a motorcycle accident that left me in a coma for 7 weeks. The accident also caused numerous orthopedic injuries in addition to the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The injuries caused me to be in a wheelchair for a months after the coma. The disability made me aware how much nutrition and exercise effected brain functions and health. Currently I work part time mentoring disabled adults to teach them ways to become more independent. I also work every day on a fundraising event for the ONRP program at Johns Hopkins. That is the program that did much to help me get back into life as a individual and productive person. I also am on the TBI Advisory Board to the Governor of Maryland.
