Taste of Nature is an established company in the food industry shipping to 50 countries worldwide.Providing leadership and mentoring to a diverse team of seven salaried staff responsible for executing strategies and managing programs/Processes in Production, Logistics, and Distribution.  Manage 3PL facilities Canada and the United States for both Domestic and International distribution  Co-Chair of Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). Ministry of Labour JHSC certified as well as first aid /Defibrillator certified With a focused eye on Health and Safety. Currently 1176 days without a lost time incident. Worked with QA Manager to develop food safety Sop’s for Maintenance, Warehousing and Production departments to be compliant for BRC. Currently achieved 3 perfect yearly BRC audits. Researched, evaluated and rolled out new 3PL’s in the GTA as well as in Kansas City US to ensure all distribution needs were met and managed on a monthly basis to customer service and fill rated were attained Developed warehouse inventory system to ensure inventory is properly managed, counts are accurate, and damages are minimised.  Worked with senior buyer to cut 3PL costs in Canada by 70% by managing warehouse space utilization and JIT purchasing of materials and packaging based on a more stable production schedule.

Established company (Loblaw) boasting 1.5 million square foot facility with 1000+ employees. Customer base This position reported to the General Manager. Led and motivated a cross-functional team of 31 responsible for all areas of the distribution centre including shipping/Receiving/Inventory control, and QA.  Member of the JHSC focused on cutting down lost time incidents in the workplace. Managed to drop 50% in the first 2 years with coaching/mentoring and educating employees on safe workplace practices Responsible for P&L of all Operational departments. Developed, Implemented and managed all Department weekly and monthly KPI’s to ensure compliance and cost savings Member of the White Hat team (continuous improvement). Helped struggling Distribution Centers in Atlanta, Pennsylvania, Indianapolis and B.C get back in the green. This was done by training salaried and hourly employee’s, developing SOP’s and replacing current failing processes with new site-specific processes that work with current customer requirements. Helped Developed and implemented a project to bring all receiving in house that was outsourced to another company. Evaluated staff, Sop’s and process to be able to downsize staff by 40 % while improving productivity by 30% Worked with Inventory Manager to reduce damages by 65% in high traffic low cube areas (produce and Dairy) and 30% in high cube areas (Grocery and Freezer) by adding multi-pick locations, lift assist for heavier products and modifying sanitation processes in wet/slippery areas.

Established company boasting 550,000 square foot facility with 500+ employees.Customer base of 145+ stores. DC was Grocery, Perishable and frozen commodities + cross-dock.In this position I reported to the General Manager. Managed, developed and coached a dynamic team of eight direct reports responsible for delivering employee development, process improvement in a standardised workplace.  Successful startup of a brand-new facility, six weeks ahead of schedule to achieve full Distributed volume.  Responsible for coaching and mentoring Five Hundred employees indirectly through Lead Supervisors and supervisors focused on Health and Safety and Productivity. Developed and rolled out a training program to get employees productivity up to 100% within 10 weeks of their hiring date. Managed the program by evaluating all employees with a 1 on 1 weekly meeting to go over their results to ensure they had the tools they needed to succeed.  After the success of the training program, Loblaw asked me to Mentor their new Regina facility and help roll out my program there as they were struggling with productivity of their new Distribution centre.
