As of January, 2023, I serve as the Director of Safety and Security for the Baldwin County School District in Milledgeville, GA. I have over 24 years of Law Enforcement experience in all areas of service. I am a State of Georgia Law Enforcement Accreditation Assessor, and Accreditation Manager. Additionally, I have received extensive training in school based multi-hazard planning, and am recognized by the United States Department of Homeland Security - Federal Emergency Management Agency as a Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Schools Trainer. I am also recognized as an Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings and Police Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents Trainer for the Energetic Material Research and Testing Center (EMRTC) at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, NM. I am also a WMD - HazMat Technicians Instructor through Counter Terrorism Operations Support at the Nevada National Security Site near Las Vegas, NV. I have extensive FEMA training in Fire Inspection through the National Fire Academy, and in Emergency Management through the Emergency Management Institute (EMI). I have received training in school safety and vulnerability assessment from Safe Havens International, and I have worked alongside their professionals as a contract analyst. I have assessed schools in emergency planning, performed risk analysis, and trained teachers and other staff members in the area of emergency response in Georgia, Florida, Texas, Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Ohio; and co-authored a publication for the Indiana Safe Schools Academy that has been shared with two other states and several Canadian provincial school districts. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Georgia College and State University, and a Master of Science in Emergency Management Administration with a concentration in Risk Management from Columbia Southern University.
