During high school, I wanted to be a rock star. I've remained passionate about music ever since. As it happens, I am a Solution and Data Architect, having found another great passion in TechnologyRealising that the journey to rock stardom requires paying for food and bills, I fell in love with architecture. Starting with a mechanical engineering course, I expanded to draftmanship and gained industry experience through a program for commercial and residential architecture in Melbourne. Computer Aided Drafting was coming into commercial businesses, and it was here I merged both architecture and technology into a life-long career.Gaining valuable business computer programming and design skills through courses, opened up a whole world unknown to me at the time. I survived the Y2K bug, and found passion in application development and design starting with C, and C++, T-SQL, before early adopter of .NET technologies, Web APIs, and responsive web and app design.Combining that earlier love of architecture, design and technology, I focused on application, solution, and data architecture, working closely with enterprise architects on design, implementation templating, documentation, and more recently with cataloging, lineage, asset/functional/ER modelling, ingestion and consumption modeling, and dictionary documentation.I am passionate about process improvement, agile processes and protocols. I'm known to ask the hard questions, factoring in risk management, security, and user experience. I'm highly driven by value-add and recognition, and am a thinker focusing on calm behaviour.As an aside, behaviour fascinates me, and volunteer as a canine behaviour consultant with a local dog training organisation. I've found this to be a highly transferable skill between canines and a professional workforce. I live in regional Victoria surrounded by native flora and fauna as far as the eye can see. Waking up to kangaroos, wallabies, fantastic birdlife, has transformed my attitude and my life.
