He enjoys collaborating with cross-functional partners to not only build a product that delights the customer but also one that is sustainable through various revenue streams. Most recently at Spotify, Corey's various podcast products helped scale the business from 300M downloads to 2B downloads a month, evolved the customer experience from an audio-focused world to one where 40% of listeners now also watch video podcasts (making way for video ads), and when COVID hit, Corey transformed the business from relying just on brand advertising to diversify to a complete product that includes subscriptions and podcast promos. Corey also built out an AI / ML enterprise tool at Spotify that uses generative AI tech to optimize where and how many ad slots should be in an episode based on indicators such as length, speaker change, content, etc. He previously worked in Venture Capital investing in Series A and B startups before going back to his love for building products at Doblin, a design innovation firm where he built ExxonMobil's Innovation Lab and also worked on creating apps for brands such as Chipotle, Waste Management, and Sherwin Williams. Corey began his career in Deloitte Consulting where he worked on product strategy and was head of product commercialization in Deloitte's incubator. Corey holds a Mechanical Engineering and Political Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and an MBA from Columbia University with a concentration on Entrepreneurship and Technology Strategy.
