While attending Umass Lowell I was given the opportunity to join a work-study program with the school's landscaping department. This is where I learned the basics of landscaping and how to operate rudimentary landscaping equipment such as:-Lawn Mowers-Weed Wackers- Hedge Trimmers- Leaf Blowers- Pole SawsMy main duties for the Landscape Division were to ensure that each property on campus was properly maintained throughout each semester and follow the day-to-day instructions provided by my Foreman. The knowledge and skills that I gained from working this position were priceless and I still carry those skills with me to this day.

While working for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), I was appointed with responsibilities such as:- Maintaining Boston city highways to ensure they are in good operating condition.- Identifying areas with eroded pavement and taking the necessary steps to repair.- Seasonal planting of outdoor plants and trees on commercial and public areas.- Removal of trees and plants around the Boston public areas.- Maintaining of the landscape surrounding the TD Garden.- Neighborhood landscaping and upkeep- Trash cleanup and disposal throughout Boston.
