Officer technician in the air antisubmarine warfare. They assist in the organization, supervision, and direction of tactical support center operations, brief and debrief operational flight crews; evaluate and determine in-flight operational efficiency of sensor systems components and ASW sensor operators; supervise preflight, in-flight, and post-flight inspection of ASW equipment, collection, preparation, and transmission of data to appropriate analysis agencies; devise and implement operational planning requirements for fleet staffs. They employ a broad knowledge of the characteristics and employment of U.S. and foreign submarines, warships, small craft, and merchant ships and principles of radar magnetic detection, electronic countermeasures, and underwater acoustics. They may serve as, but are not limited to serving as, squadron aircrew training officers and aircrew division officers, or in various operational and staff billets.
