Responsibilities:• Develop commercial framework for projects, and end to end project accounting support to a portfolio of projects undertaken by Golder Australasia• Commercial analysis and Project reporting to Project Stakeholders.• Partnering with the Project Managers, Operations, Project Delivery to improve financial awareness to minimise scope creep, secure variations and rework. • Implement margin erosion programs to improve margins on projects.• Project forecasting and department/Business outlook on a monthly basis• System Champion-rolled out a new ERP System( Star System to BST ERP)- data migration and management of cultural changes on the ground• Reviewed all projects with PM’s, did forecasting, tidied projects to ensure projects reflected correct revenue and margins.Achievements:• Managed 180 projects concurrently and provided end to end project accounting responsibilities including forecasting, revenue recognition, cost and revenue forecasting, invoicing and collections.• Developed simplified reports, dashboard with key KPI’s (Financial, Operational, Project indicators, NLMs, yield, Backlog indicators) and graphs for the business line • Improved DSO’s from 85 days to 72 days via robust WIP monitoring, improvised debt collection strategies.• Project Analysis reporting and Top 10 Project health report (projects that would impact the financial results of the business line/ department). Developed projects cost reports pricing tool and forecast templates that the PM’s could utilise to forecast projects at any given time.• Scheduled monthly and quarterly project reviews and became finance focal point with PM’s, PD’s,Operation and Risk Management and improved margins from 2% to 8% (average) • Developed forecasting templates/models that the business adopted- saving 2 days in forecasting time frame.• System Champion and supported PM’s understand financials on projects- reduced variances and write offs by 8% in 4 months.
