Lead a group of 60 metallurgists and chemists tasked with strategizing, developing, and supporting research, validation, and continuous improvement projects for our global product lines (2.8L to 95L engines, engine components, and engine fluids). Maintain focus on safety throughout the entire project life cycle, from launch through re-manufacturing.Administer a multi million dollar annual operating budget, million dollar research budget and six figure yearly capital budget.• Includes three laboratory operations (chemistry, metallurgy and polymer analysis labs)• Initiated and expanded key relationships with national labs, universities, and suppliers to facilitate collaboration on exploratory projects in material, fluid, and processing development. Co-Principle Investigator with Oak Ridge National Lab to develop new steel alloys.• Provided subject matter expertise on fluids to internal teams and customers in the lubricant/fuel industry and Cummins customers, offering valuable insight regarding lubricants, fuels, and coolants.• Intimate knowledge with ASTM Test Methods and familiar with ISO certification requirements.
