His early designs stayed true to his street culture interests and mixed street elements such as graffiti with unique fabrics and textures like Chinese silk and bamboo.Williams’ out of the box thinking and willingness to go beyond the norm, garnered the interest of a number of media outlets including MTV, Urbanology and Peace magazine. Within a short time BASTIAN was receiving a number of requests for custom shoe design from a multitude of celebrities including Drake, Snoop Dogg and Trey Songz.By 2007 BASTIAN had gathered a faithful following of shoe collectors, enthusiasts and consumers who frequented the many pop up shops and displays Williams held throughout Toronto. Today BASTIAN is regarded as one of Toronto’s number one custom shoe design companies and continues to push the limits on fashion trends.
