I am an intuitive engineer and a veteran of the software development and IT industries. My experiences in the heavily governed medical, financial and law enforcement industries have shaped my passion for leading teams and building systems that push us forward ethically and responsibly. I strongly believe that when leading a team it is my responsibility to provide any opportunities for growth and guidance that I can. I push to promote balance and ensure my teammates are fulfilled in their work and subsequently their personal lives. My role should provide challenging problems that excite people rather than bore them with a traditional routine. I never ask of others what I am not prepared to do myself. I also believe that strong leadership comes from having experience with what you are meant to lead. Learning and being a part of the project helps ensure I am not the figurehead who leads from an office but instead gets their hands dirty and shares my experience and knowledge with my team.When it comes to system architecture, principals like KISS and SOLID are what I strive to follow. Build evolutionary systems so that the cost of growth is minimal and risk level is low. Find new ways to approach the problem but emphasize that not every problem has the same solution.
