Fusion is a news, pop culture and satire digital and TV network. Everyday it engages and champions a young, diverse, and inclusive America with a mix of smart and irreverent original reporting, lifestyle, and comedic content. I brought smart, sassy, and satirical insight to Fusion's World Cup coverage. On the digital side, I was one-half of the @SoccerGods' social media personality, organically growing our Twitter congregation from under 1,000 to more than 12,000 in just ten weeks. In addition to tweeting all 64 matches, we created media-rich live blogs that yielded more than a million page views. Our unique voice, complemented by rich digital media, not only drove engagement, it attracted collaborators. We took over Good Morning America's Twitter account for several matches and had Jorge Ramos, Leon Krauze, and Judah Friedlander as guests on the live blog.I used the Scribble Live social engagement platform to curate content from Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for use in our "honeycomb." Additionally, I worked with the Social Media Director to develop and implement strategy and work-flow across all platforms. I created original content for the website, including serious articles, satirical pieces, and parody projects. On the TV side, I interviewed people and wrote and appeared in segments. Together, our team of personalities, innovators, designers and other highly skilled professionals produced a rich, interactive World Cup experience.Fusion CEO Isaac Lee praised our "unique second-screen experience . . .. The numbers back it up — we saw over 50% of the traffic to Soccer.Fusion.net come from mobile and over a third of the traffic was consistently driven by social media. Throughout the month we made great strides building a community around our 'The Soccer Gods' franchise, increasing the social following of @SoccerGods by over 1000 percent and found the show’s followers were actively engaged at levels that surpassed all our benchmarks."
