Regional Director Of Data Center Operations, North Texas
Current* Promoted in 2021 to manage operations for nine (9) data centers located throughout the state of Texas representing 350,000 sqft. and over 100MW of critical power. * Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of 57 Datacenter Technicians and Datacenter Managers responsible for supporting and monitoring systems, software, hardware, and networks in a 24x7x365, mission-critical environment.* Ensure the security of physical/virtual assets housed in each data center facility by remaining vigilant to potential penetration tests while leveraging infrastructure management systems, video surveillance, and access controls.* Contribute towards data center expansion and new construction projects by reviewing plans, assisting in the design process, and offering recommendations based on extensive “boots on the ground” experience.* Manage a growing portfolio of 3rd party vendors that maintain or upgrade electrical and mechanical data center components and equipment. Assess vendor performance and renegotiate contracts to ensure high-levels of performance in adherence with client-based SLAs; identifying additional cost savings through service consolidation/bundling options.* Engineer environments in support of customer deployments and upgrades; routinely researching and making recommendations to current clients on alternative software/package solutions and customized configurations.* Create and advance data center policies, procedures, and protocols as part of a selected committee comprised of key market managers; effectively supporting long-term service optimization goals through the definition and testing of new procedures prior to deployment nationwide.* Regularly attend industry conferences to research new server, network, and data security technologies with the potential to add tremendous value in maintaining the highest-levels of data center reliability, redundancy, and efficiency.
