Assigned to Special Ops Station 17 as a Fire Specialist, I act an administrative adjunct to the Officers, with primary responsibilities of building inspections, company training, and public education. Since entering the department in 2011, I have become a Burn Technician to assist at the Fire Academy, served on probationary interview panels, and have assisted with a command/RIT competency drill focused on preparing Chief officers for mayday situations. During my time at Station 17, I have been actively involved in Technical Rescue training, became a member of the Field Force Extrication Team, and have obtained my Rescue Boat Operator certification.

I became a member of Harford TRT, now Harford Special Ops, in 2014. Originally serving as a volunteer on the team, I transitioned into a paid employee in 2018 when the team merged with Hazmat. Acting as a Rescue/Hazmat Technician with all five technical rescue disciplines, I respond to numerous technical rescues in multiple counties and several states. Rescue types include flood, swift water, high-angle rope, trench, confined space, mud, cave, large animal rescue, and hazardous material incidents. Implemented and manage a county-wide trail mapping and accountability system.

I began the 911 academy in January of 2011 and quickly rose to the head of the class. Once completing training and assigned to "the floor", I earned the position of fire dispatch. During my short time there, I was asked several times to assist with new candidates preparing them for the hectic environment in the 911 center. I learned an immense amount of information and developed a deep understanding on how communications work. I worked the 7-3 shift until December 2nd, when I started the BCoFD fire academy.

Provided rescue standby for confined space and lethal environments, monitored IDLH environments, provided basic life support, and complied with OSHA standards. I gained a lot of experience working in several industrial plants including Frito Lay, the Mountour coal fed power plant, and spending most of our time in the Sparrows Point Steel Mill.
