I have seven years experience working in Fire and Emergency Medical Services, I have held different positions from working as a contract firefighter for the Wyoming Army National Guard to an Engineer for the Rawlins Fire Dept. and finally as a Firefighter and Paramedic for the City of Laramie Fire Dept. I have helped organize and teach EMS up to the intermediate level of training, and fully intend on remaining in emergency services for the duration of my career!_________________In the past seven years from working in Fire and EMS, I have learned many things. One of those things is that teaching and educating is something that I am passionate about as it not only helps me to improve myself at what I do but it also works to generate the next generation of EMS and Fire providers. I have taught for about the last three years and to say that it has been a challenge would be an understatement. I have learned that teaching can be a shortcut to mastery of your skills and provides us with a sense of fulfillment that few other things in life can provide! __________________While many people I know tend to supplement their work life with something completely separate I like to use my free time to find ways to improve at what I do full time. I have always maintained secondary employment either as a volunteer EMT with a local agency or with the local hospital to try and gain more experience. From volunteering with the local ambulance in a city of 1000 people, running EMS and Fire calls with an aging volunteer agency, to working part-time in the ED at both Memorial Hospital of carbon county and Ivinson Memorial Hospital to say that I love what I do would not be saying enough! _________________I Maintain a high level of passion and drive for what I do every day, my intention each day is to focus on self-improvement and try and see each mistake and experience as an opportunity to learn!Contact me:Cell: 307-761-2838email: chaefner@gmail.com
