Project Description:Our senior design team is working with the Department of Defense to build a program that leverages machine learning to direct an inexperienced operator when it is safe to inflate a balloon catheter in a patients aorta to stop bleeding.-Learn safety precautions associated with using Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA) on a live patient.-Develop machine learning algorithm and model to help our program make an intelligent decision.-Use real-time X-ray data and imaging to monitor the patient's heart.- Project team was selected by Virginia Tech faculty to present the efforts at the Sage National Systems Engineering Design Competition at George Mason University.

COGENT Lab | Center for Human-Computer InteractionResearch Description:Using driving simulators, our lab measures drivers' cognitive load and trust while operating semi-autonomous cars using Augmented Reality Heads-Up-Display (AR HUD). The AR HUD works with the driver to provide real-time alerts that enhance driver alertness, and to assist in navigation with real-time directions.-Develop simulation software using Unity and Unreal Engine.-Perform user studies to test driver's cognitive load and peace of mind.

I serve as the face of Virginia Tech for visitors interested in pursuing an education with our university.I lead tour groups around our campus while explaining what Virginia Tech has to offer in academics, housing, dining, clubs/organizations, etc. My vast knowledge about campus life serves as a tool to answer any question that a guest may have. All the while, I demonstrate why my guests should consider being a Hokie by displaying my passion and spirit.

I helped develop what could be a serious impact to the future of the internet. Satellite internet is already a great connectivity resource for under-served and unserved areas. Looking forward, the Internet of Things and 5G networks depend on satellites for their success, and are becoming more feasible with advancements in satellite technologies. With this opportunity, I got to see how virtualization and automation testing will facilitate a bright future for satellites.- Wrote test case scripts to automatically test IP data transfer on the physical layer of the OSI model for satellite communications.- Deployed a VMware network to help lean out the CI/CD pipeline and offer new scalability opportunities in automated testing. - Quickly learned the technicalities associated with satellite communications over the entire life cycle of an IP packet from Earth to Geostationary Orbit and back.- Held network administration responsibilities to deploy a virtual network.
