After 17 years in Human Resources, I fully transitioned to the role of a Clinical Social Worker. I have done clinical social work since my internship in 2019. In addition to my direct clinical experience, my human resources career was highly focused on developing strong relationships within the organization, developing managers in the skill of human relations, and working with people to foster continued growth, all of which are very similar to the work I do as a therapist. I utilize an eclectic approach steeped in Client-Centered Therapy with structural components if Internal Family Systems and Systems Theory and the utilization of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as the foundation of my practice, but I lean on several other modalities, including Nonviolent Communication to meet the client where they are and use the modality that is most aligned with their needs. Relative to my Human Resource credentials, I am highly compliance-minded, analytical producer who cares deeply about people. I work well with teams and believe in a 360-degree leadership principle, striving to help everyone succeed by influencing even without authority. Having an entrepreneurial mindset, I have a proven track record of being able to work independently as well. I have a history of promoting diversity and equal treatment which has only been enhanced through my social work education.I am adept at communicating with all levels of employees and being able to provide information in a way that they can understand. My MSW experience has improved my ability to coach and counsel, as well as set goals and motivate individuals to achieve the goals with ongoing support. I believe firmly in documentation, which is an offshoot of my compliance focus, but also helps to ensure communication is understood by all parties. Specialties: I am technologically savvy and familiar with employment law. I have extensive experience with HIPAA, COBRA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, and unemployment issues.Beyond that, I excel at employee relations and find my passion is in helping develop a workforce that demonstrates professionalism, initiative, and emotional intelligence.
