Lead Senior NetworkThe State Of Idaho Jan 2005 - Nov 2010Boise, Idaho, UsAt the Department of Health and Welfare, I was responsible for a team of network and security professionals supporting enterprise technologies: WAN/LAN, Data Center operations, Collaboration, Security, and Wireless. Participation and cooperation with Federal Agencies was a common and necessary responsibility. Project management for all network projects was a responsibility of the position. The network consisted of 47 locations, 4000+ users, and more than 10000 Ethernet ports. During my time WAN connectivity consisted of a range of technologies and bandwidth from 768kbps Frame Relay to 1gbps Metro Ethernet. I was responsible for migrating the WAN for a Frame Relay/ATM hybrid to single MPLS private network. Some projects I managed were to replace technology for the state institutional hospitals, migrate from a Frame Relay/ATM hybrid to single MPLS private network, and complete a statewide deployment of video psychiatry to reach to all 7 regions of the state. During this time I was also recognized with the Director's Award of Excellence for my participation in the development of a COOP plan. -
