Managing a portfolio of national and local clients, my role is to craft compelling content to increase the engagement and fundraising efforts of the nonprofits, campaigns, and political groups we work with. In my role, I focus on email, direct mail, and text message outreach. I also assist in event planning and execution for intimate gatherings to major galas.

My primary responsibilities center around grassroots and grasstops fundraising strategy. For grassroots development work, I run the grassroots donor program which includes writing fundraising emails, planning direct mail campaigns, and looking at creative ways to engage supporters online. For grasstops development work, I organize and track major donor outreach, pledges, and commitment fulfillment. To effectively communicate with legacy and prospective donors, I conduct robust research on the backgrounds and giving histories of donors, create informational briefings for RAM leadership on these individuals, and manage development call time with the leadership team and key advisors. Along with individual donor research, I research grant opportunities and worked with the team on writing and submitting proposals and LOI’s to foundations.

O2 Utah changes environmental policy by getting involved in elections. Working in both primaries and general elections, O2 provides resources and consulting to candidates committed to cleaning Utah's dirty air, protecting public lands, and building clean energy. In my role, I work with the team to build both major donor and small-donor programs. I work to cultivate relationships with our donors and build out campaigns to engage small-dollar donors via our social platforms and through email.

In 2020, Protect Our Winters is looking to turn out 40,000 voters in six battleground states with climate as their top priority when they fill out their ballot. My position is responsible for assisting across multiple programs and strategies, with a strong focus on civic engagement and voter education within the outdoor community in the 2020 elections. In addition, my position works on both federal and state-level climate and clean energy policy, largely focusing on policy analysis and advocacy writing.

I managed a staff of three, giving direction on research, field strategy, communications, and organizing events. I focused our campaign on small-dollar, grassroots donations, where we consistently ranked as a top individual-donor candidate in the election. We crafted progressive policy proposals in response to top issues facing Salt Lake City including air quality, housing affordability, and equal opportunity to essential community resources for under-served communities. Our signature "No Fare for Clean Air" no-cost public transportation proposal held a 70% approval rating with voters.

Blueprint is a political and non-profit consulting and fundraising firm. We work to develop direct mail fundraising plans, assist in drafting lists and letters, and process contributions as they roll in. My role included doing a number of odd jobs such as writing copy, drafting fundraising emails and letters, writing blog posts, finding content to post on social media, processing contributions, candidate financial disclosure compliance, managing fundraising call time, donor list development, and other projects "as assigned."

I assisted the minority party with replying to constituent questions, comments, and concerns. I would be tasked with conducting research, and finding information relevant for the representatives so they could best facilitate the needs of their constituents in a timely manner. I also help with scheduling meetings, events, and interviews with the representatives.

I started in finance with the campaign. It was my task to enter donor pledges into our NGP database, and following-up with donors to ensure they had sent in their campaign contributions. I helped in forming a committee to create an environmental fundraiser for the campaign. Under the guidance of the campaign manager, we set up quarterly fundraising goals and hashed out how we would meet our fundraising goals. Our second quarter goal (my first full quarter on the campaign) was $125,000, with our final total disclosed July 1st being $176, 751. The campaign raised over $800,000 during the 2015 cycle.I was asked to also take on the responsibilities of the field work because of my skills working and cultivating relationships with others. I worked heavily with the Voter Activation Network/Vote Builder database used by the Democratic National Committee for data entry and extraction purposes. I ran and supervised the volunteer recruiting aspects of the campaign, as well as my two field organizers and our team of interns. I trained and helped with the collection all the voter identification information gathered during our nightly canvass and/or phone bank, entering that data in our Vote Builder committee to then identify our target groups during the “Get out the Vote” phase of the campaign. Between January and election day on November 3rd, we contacted nearly 73,000 people during the 2015 election cycle; 33,000 of those contacts coming after the primary election on August 11th.

I interviewed Westminster College Alumni about their experience with Westminster during and after their time at the college. In my second year with the program, I was appointed director of the Discovery Program where I managed a team of five students. I then compiled all that information for an end of year presentation to the Alumni Board and Board of Trustees in an effort to improve alumni relations and programming and help the college identify stronger fundraising practices.

Through an initiative at Westminster College, I was matched with One Hour For Life, a non-profit 501c3 organization. The mission of One Hour For Life is to provide health education and support to create sustainable healthcare worldwide. Their programs are customized to fit local needs and account for socio-economic and cultural awareness. As a student consultant, I was asked to find strategies for them to fund-raise, match them with grants, market effectively, and attract volunteers. A summation of my work was presented to both the members of One Hour For Life and Westminster officials upon the completion of my work in April, 2015.

I assisted in the production and organization of a monthly eNewsletter sent out to approximately 15,000 Westminster alumni. I interview faculty, staff, and prominent alumni, doing write-ups on those individuals to be included in the eNewsletter, as well as on the college website. A few of my write-ups were selected to be published in the college’s biannual circulation, "The Westminster Review."

HEAL Utah is an environmental watchdog, concerned primarily with nuclear waste, reductions in the use of coal as the primary energy source in Utah, and air quality across the state. They also promote the use and expansion of renewable energy sources. I assist in the creation of web content and conducting research for the HEAL Utah blog and website (healutah.org). I contact people in hopes they will produce and submit letters to the editor for the major newspapers in the Salt Lake area, as well as write letters of my own. I assist in contacting constituents, raising awareness concerning environmental issues and ask them to contact their members of the Utah legislature to support or oppose certain pieces of legislation. I also sit in on legislative hearings.

The Community Organizing Institute looks to further progressive ideals through grassroots organizing. The aim is to build a coalition of volunteers and organizers to lobby and pressure lawmakers into voting for progressive pieces of legislation. In this 10 week fellowship, the three topics the Institute focused on during the 2015 legislative session were Medicaid expansion, LGBTQ non-discrimination, and, my focal point, air quality issues in Utah. Our duties were to phone bank weekly, meet with and organize volunteers, and to hold events, such as house parties, gather for rallies, and/or to hold lobbying days at the Utah State Capitol.

I worked with the Voter Activation Network/Vote Builder database to identify and target large turnout precincts in the House District to activate the most voters to turn out. I participated in canvassing and phone banking strategies to ensure as many voters as possible were contacted, with over 2,400 voters contacted on Election Day alone.

I shadowed and worked with Party leaders in helping candidates create a strategy and operate field plans. These field plans included door-to-door canvassing, volunteer recruitment, constituent calling, and data entry.

I worked with a wide variety of children ranging in age from first grade to fifth grade, of various economic and ethnic backgrounds in a one-on-one mentorship and tutorship in math, science, language, history, and grammar. I also well as being a teacher’s assistant, grading papers and assisting in classroom facilitation.

I was one of 12 camp counselors at a three week summer camp for the best and brightest 5th and 6th grade students from across the state of Wyoming, participating in both 2011 and 2012. Each week, counselors were assigned 8-12 students (depending on the week) to watch over and act as a mentor. We spent our evenings with students, facilitating both small and large group activities, spent the night in the college dorms with the students, and were with them until they went to their class sessions at 9 AM. We rejoined our students when they finished sessions at 4 PM.

At this small credit counseling agency run by a family friend, I was entrusted as one of the higher-ups, even at a young age. It was my duty in delegating tasks and responsibilities to other employees, transporting sums of money ranging from $10 to $10,000 to and from clients and banks, as well as transporting sensitive documents to clients. I also worked both on the phone and in face-to-face interaction in facilitating financial transactions between our clients and creditors and/or banks.
