Analysis and interpretation of the geochemical history of fossilized bone dating from the Cretaceous. Samples were collected from the Lower Yellowcat Formation (Dalton Wells, Utah) and analyzed using various techniques (SEM, XRF, Petrographic Microscopy, and pending XRD). An interpretation which constrains the introduction of a foreign MnO compound within the bone is pending. This work is on going.

Primarily responsible for the development of a workflow in which one could extract geospatial data from a given outcrop or model without the use of in situ techniques (i.e. a brunton compass). This involved converting photos of a folded outcrop into a photogrametric model (Agisoft Photoscan), processing them for use within Altair Hypermesh (SolidWorks), and then using a matlab script to extract geospatial data given mesh vertices coordinates. A project related to the near surface geophysical responses of two contemporary revolutionary war era mass burials. The two burials (of temporal and spatial similarity) were surveyed via GPR, ERT, and Magnetometry analysis. Following the collection and processing of this data, a comparative analysis of the two sites, as well as interpretations of the similarities and dissimilarities, was conducted. This project was concluded with an oral presentation of our findings as SAGEEP 2021.
