I got my start in digital capture at Dtouch, helping them establish their New York operation. I took a room of unorganized cables and equipment and turned it into a production ready operation providing digital capture services to some of the most succesful photographers in the world, including: Mert and Marcus, Mario Testino, Mikael Jansson, Jenny Gage and Tom Betterton, and Camilla Akrans.After leaving Dtouch I created and managed a digital capture department for Primary Photographic. While there I ordered, configured and maintained equipment capable of self-sufficient location setups in Mexico and 12-day catalog shoots in New York. I installed and configured an automated server-based backup supporting our digital capture and retouching departments. I was also responsible for general IT solutions and the asset management system.I managed the digital department at Splashlight Studios for three years. While there I specialized in creating very high volume workflows to support multiple simultaneous shoots for clients like Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Ann Taylor and Nordstrom. I cultivated a wiki system with RSS feeds and an instant message server to distribute information and shoot standards. I also worked with the IT department to grow our infrastructure to support our clients and internal needs.In total, I’ve helped establish or reestablish four digital capture departments in New York.
