I’m a fourth-year engineering and computer science student aspiring to become a engineer / software developer. My first exposure to engineering and computer science was in high school where I attended Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology. It was here through the academically rigorous classes where I learned the basic foundations of computer science and block coding. This sparked my interest in exploring technology. I began to learn coding on my own using platforms like: Unity Software, BlueJ, Visual Studio, and YouTube. I have furthered my knowledge of computer science and engineering through my classes. I have learned the discipline of systematically understanding a problem, the language to communicate different concepts and approaches with members of a team, the understanding of professional and ethical responsibility, and how to analyze and interpret data from a project. I look forward to working with a company this summer where I can continue my curiosity to delve deeper into the field and learn more about identifying, formulating, and solving engineering problems, along with participating in projects that cross different disciplines.Along with pursing my BS degree, I’m also a NCAA swimming athlete and captain of Emory and Henry University Swim Team and was named All-Academic Athlete for the collegiate school year 2021-2022. To balance out my college academic life, I am actively participating in extracurricular activities. I founded and am the president of the first Intramural Men’s Volleyball Club Team, served as a Senator on the Student Government Association and was an Orientation Leader (August 2023).Although I do have a full schedule, I make time for fun too. I enjoy gaming and playing Magic: The Gathering, watching sports, going to the movies, bowling, and hanging out with my friends.I strive for excellence in everything I do and I’m a firm believer in leaving each place and situation that crosses my path in better condition than what I found it in.
