I have worked for nearly 14 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in structural and civil site design and inspection for dam and levee safety. During my tenure, I have gained extensive experience in the design and construction of dams and levees, including a $900M+ dam safety modification project and $900M+ levee and channel widening project. I have also conducted numerous site inspections to ensure that structures are in compliance with safety regulations and standards. Overall, my experience with USACE has equipped me with an understanding of the complexities involved in ensure the safety of these critical structures.Throughout my career, I have been an active member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) for over 16 years. I started as a student member, including leadership roles as Chapter VP and President and eventually took on leadership roles at the Post and national levels, including College Outreach and Young Professionals COI Chairs. I have also been honored with several awards, including the Post public sector member of the year, and the Ohio Valley Regional Vice President's medal. These recognitions reflect my commitment to the organization and my contributions to the engineering community. In 2023, I was inducted into the Academy of Fellows, which recognizes those members who have rendered dedicated and outstanding service to the Society, military engineering, and the A/E/C profession. Being an active member of SAME has contributed a significant part of my career, providing me with numerous opportunities to connect with other professionals, share knowledge, and contribute to the advancement of the A/E/C industry.

As a member of the Board of Direction, I served to develop goals, metrics, and a vision for SAME and the 2015-2020 SAME Strategic Plan. More recently, I led over 10 COI members during a task force to contact all 68 Chapters including the Post Presidents, Chapter Mentors, and Faculty Advisers. In addition, I coordinated with the YP COI Chair on a national initiative to transition student members to young members upon graduation and encourage continued participation in SAME to enhance and develop as practicing professionals or active duty military officers. As Chair of the SAME College Outreach COI, I was responsible for supporting Post’s efforts in the mentoring and development of future professionals at over 60 SAME Student Chapters at universities and colleges across the nation and provide opportunities for building professional relationships between practicing professionals and students. As Chair, I developed and facilitated four multi-day workshops averaging 60 attendees. Previously served as the Vice-Chair for the SAME College Outreach COI for 5 years and organized and facilitated the 2011-2014 SAME Student Leaders Workshops. Led the development of the Student Chapter Guidance Manual used by SAME student chapters providing best practices, roles and responsibilities and other vital information used to help develop and sustain student chapters. -
