Daily Acts is a holistic educational non-profit that inspires transformative action to create more connected, equitable, and climate-resilient communities. As a programs coordinator, I help to manage city contracts and implement community-engaged education programs. We offer our low-cost, low-tech, people-powered solutions through our talks, tours, and workshops that allow for opportunities to take part in hands-on learning. Many of our talks, tours, and workshops focus on D.I.Y. people-powered solutions such as sheet mulching, graywater installations, and harvesting rainwater.Our education programs, action campaigns, and strategic alliances connect people to each other and to their own power to grow food, conserve resources and build local resilience.

During my time working as a herbalist and managing the greenhouse I worked to propagate herbs and plants from seeds and cuttings. I worked to organize data analysis and detailed record keeping of greenhouse product sheets while working with vendors and buyers. I specialized in greenhouse care by watering, disinfecting, and pruning herbs after propagation. I oversaw the daily operations of the team, trained new staff, managed schedules, and directed staff. I upheld environmental standards for agricultural and horticultural products that are organically certified and passed by the Agriculture department board. On-site, I managed my apiaries as a beekeeper and frequently lead workshops for educating on beekeeping.

This project aims to understand the plant and pollinator interactions that are managed under the right-of-way of PG&E. Upon collecting data, my team and I compare data to nearby ecosystems and landscapes that are not managed in right- of -ways. Procedure follows recording and identifying the biodiversity of the species richness of pollinator types and flowers. I compile field data and record it into the software to be analyzed. Through my position I have acquired leadership skills through team management, training, and hiring of interns. I have also obtained public speaking skills through presentations and outreach events.

Assisted primary preschool teachers with managing classrooms of up to 20 students, ranging in age from 4- to 5-years-old. Led play-based lessons and skill-building activities in science, art, language, and math. Implmented curriculum development, including creative lesson planning and design.Thoroughly trained in classroom management techniques for early childhood learners, background in early childhood development, and psychology of aging.

Educated and facilitated field trips and hikes for elementary students while teaching about the local ecology, history, and landscape. I would lead curriculums targeted around adaptation, climate change, the cycle of life, and the carbon cycle. Cared for farm life and conduct frequent trail maintenance, along with being able to identify: wildlife, plants, and livestock.

Participated in site maintenance such as pruning, weeding, planting, mulching, rainwater storage, and irrigation. Used organic and sustainable agriculture practices to restore natural ecosystems. I worked to facilitate volunteer programs and lead workshops at on-site gardens, as well as, lead programs at elementary schools. Partnered with Sustainable Sonoma to renovate living communities.

Being a sales specialist I familiarized myself with outdoor recreational items to best insure guests of the latest products to prepare them for their next outdoor adventure, while using the correct product for their needs. Knowledgeable of latest specs in clothing and footwear department, as well as others such as: camping and action sports. In my job I was able to properly size and fit guest on the floor and working in the back stocking or unloading inventory. In addition to, I worked with REI Headquarters to use unique graphics for store’s demographic.
