Work with women who are currently serving a custodial sentence of fewer than 4 years; on remand; or at risk of breaching a Community Payback Order. As a Generic Criminal Justice Worker I was able to support my colleagues in other services, as required. I was trained to do work within the Sacro Tackling Offending Prejudices (STOP) hate crime service. Through this service I also participated in prison workshops providing information about hate crime. I also carried a case load for the Arrest Referral Service supporting people who have addiction issues. Additionally, I ran the Women's Mentoring Service carrying most of the case load.

Responsible for setting up, and delivering, a new Early and Effective Intervention service for women. I supported women who were at risk of entering the Criminal Justice System. Provided women with a tailored holistic service to suit their individual needs. Undertook a lot of promotional work to establish the service.

Support service users to minimise their risk of offending and/or recidivist behaviours, helping promote integration into society.

Work in a local hotel dealing with a wide variety of clientele. Serve meals/drinks within the different departments. Assist in the smooth running of shift. Ensure customers needs are met, and deal with any complaints in an efficient, professional manner. Contribute to the training of new staff members and lead less experienced members of the team. During my time in this role I have developed skills relating to customer service and communication. I have had the opportunity to achieve an SVQ 2 in Food and Drink Service.

I was a volunteer with Victim Support Scotland, providing practical and/or emotional support to victims of crime by telephone, home visits or office appointments. I provided support to victims who have encountered crimes including assault, housebreaking, fraud, attempted murder, domestic abuse, rape and other sexual offences, to name a few. Specialist trained in supporting those affected by sexual offences and murder. Provided shadowing opportunities for newer volunteers, allowing them the chance to experience the work as a volunteer.Participated in promotional work.Participated in administrative tasks. Nominated for volunteering award (2012). I had the opportunity to put some of the theory and skills I have learnt at university (from both Criminal Justice and Alcohol and Drug Studies courses) into practice. In this role I had the opportunity to develop my communication skills and ability to provide effective support to a wide variety of people with differing needs.
