On 5 acres outside of Hartford CT, I created an urban nature sanctuary which includes an eco-conscious rental cottage on a creek providing guests a chance to reconnect to nature, each other, creativity and themselves and learn about sustainability and conservation. I also designed and built patios which I rent for small private events which feature the beauty of the historical rock walls where the gristmill used to stand overlooking a waterfall and the many native plants. The hospitality and events support conservation, restoration and preservation efforts on the land.Part of the goal of the project here is to provide community education, outreach and engagement to teach folks about sustainability and conservation in our own homes. I teach through the lens of Intersectional Environmentalism and Critical Consciousness. In 2024 I hope to launch the hosting of art + firefly viewing events for small groups from around our community to help inspire + educate folks about how their actions as homeowners have direct impacts on the environment and their community that share these resources. I have partnered with a variety of local conservation agencies to provide access to the land and waterway where it helps support their missions. My partner and I cherish being stewards of this land and with our knowledge and scrappy DIY spirit, you will find us wading the water cleaning out trash, identifying and removing invasive species, and planning and replanting areas with strategic native plants.

After my boutique partner dance studio Cori-ography Dance and it's sister brand The First Dance Place by Cori-ography became San Diego's top-rated wedding dance studio, I expanded my work to include educating groups and teams by facilitating workshops using connection-theory as the basis for team and communication building; training other teachers to better reach their audience; helping other small businesses improve their marketing and sales; and coaching entrepreneurs to grow their small businesses. My teaching and business philosophy is connection-and human-first and this approach to sales, service, and marketing not only drove my brand to success in my competitive market but now also helps entrepreneurs to grow businesses that feel rooted in care for themselves and their clients. I love helping other small business owners, teachers and service providers upscale and develop themselves whether in their local markets for in-person service based businesses or online. I know what it's like to be a small business and even a team of 1 or 2 at times and be wearing ALL the hats. And I know how much I would have benefited from having a coach partnering with me who knew the ins-and-outs of our industry and running a brick and mortar business. I now enjoy being that support system for other teachers, studio owners, artists, entrepreneurs and those who dream big.Specifically in the partner and ballroom dance industry, having worked in studios of all sizes and in the wedding industry for over 15 years, I love to bring my insight and experience to studios of all sizes because I believe our industry can be better, always- there's always room for improvement! As a singer/songwriter, Cori works cross-genres- playing with soul, pop, rock, folk, and jazz- to create lyrically-storied and emotionally-invested pieces. Her sound is soulful, sensual, and sometimes playful and her performances share a depth of emotion with audiences.Her absolute love of writing and performing began at a very young age. She has recorded and released 4 albums since 2005 with the latest project, a full length album titled Who Am I? (2017), available on all major platforms. She is currently working on her 5th album. Working both as a soloist and with a 7 piece band, she brings a wide range to her performances. Cori-ography Dance is a boutique partner dance studio in San Diego specializing in wedding choreography + partner dance instruction for adults. After becoming the number 1 ranked studio for wedding couples in San Diego by 2019, it transitioned into its sister brand- The First Dance Place by Cori-ography- in March of 2020 (great timing as we all know!). The studio became very popular among San Diego couples for Cori's human-first, individualized approach to teaching and wedding choreography processes that excelled at giving clients the first dances that fit their wants and needs. With a special place in our hearts for beginners, Cori-ography delivered partner dance instruction in almost all styles of partnered dance with the core values of connection, communication, comfort and confidence at the head of the unique teaching style. My mission was to help couples connect and bring the benefits of partner dance to our clients and community.
