Exceeds Expectations Learning offers tutoring and mentoring services for students ages 7 and up, online worldwide via videocall and in person in the Seattle area. We cover subjects across the board, and specialize in working with gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) students, tailoring our approach to each student. 2EL also offers consulting services for parents who are trying to understand and meet the needs of their children or who just want a hand in determining an appropriate educational path for them. We can advise on the IEP process and accommodations for a variety of needs.

Founded GHF in response to a rapidly increasing population of families with 'outlier' children who were seeking educational alternatives. Guiding GHF in leveraging technology to become a major and influential secular resource for hundreds of thousands of families and professionals worldwide who are interested in the many facets of neurodiverse learning and in the wide array of educational options now available. GHF provided education, support, community and outreach through a variety of methods, including the GHF Press, GHF Online, and Professionals divisions for families of all kinds, including through the Gifted Cubed scholarship program for gifted/2e kids facing additional challenges due to low income, race and ethnthicity, and LGBTQ+.As Executive Director, I oversaw the growth and operations of the entire organization, including staffing, fundraising, grant writing, web site development, direct responsibility for all aspects of social media (including a reach of 1.1 million individuals per month), seeking and placing advertisements and sponsorships, writing and editing, public and government relations, outreach, professional education, and nurturing relationships with the community in general and related businesses and organizations in particular. The Homeschool Association of California (HSC) is a statewide association supporting families who choose alternative methods of education for their children.Worked closely with the committee Chair to monitor legislation and court decisions pertaining to homeschoolers in California. Responsibilities included managing government relations at state and national levels, networking with related organizations and coordinating public relations strategy, summarizing issues and providing updates for internal and external audiences using online communications tools, performing analyses to determine potential impact of legislation on state homeschooling, and advocating for HSC members when necessary.

Created the position of Gifted/Special Needs Advisor, reporting directly to the Board of Directors, in order to provide advice and assistance for families seeking guidance in educating their differently abled children. Responsibilities included individual consultation and advocacy, as well as content development and maintenance of the gifted section of the HSC website.

During the peak of National Information Infrastructure (NII) development, I was brought in to 3Com to build a government relations/lobbying program at the federal and international levels. Primarily responsible for advising executives regarding topical legislative concerns such as securities litigation reform, intellectual property policy, and the Digital Communications Act. Coordinated with colleagues at companies with whom 3Com shared interests, managed media contacts, represented 3Com in various associations and committees relating to technology industry, including hosting a conference for the American Committee for Interoperable Systems (ACIS). Attended Congressional hearings and met with appropriate officials to present information, draft and discuss language and impact of federal legislation. Provided related materials for the external website.

OSTP serves as a source of scientific and technological analysis and judgment for the President with respect to major policies, plans, and programs of the Federal Government.Researched domestic and international technology policy, including writing a position paper on international telecommunications policy for the Secretary of Commerce. Wrote briefings relating to the National Information Infrastructure (NII) initiative and the federal budget 'standoff' of 1994, supervised other interns, and contributed to the White House web site.

Performed economic analyses of various taxes and benefits (particularly relating to ERISA plans) for the National Tax group of this consultancy firm. Developed a prototype of the KPMG National Tax web site, including design, architecture and content.
