As a medical scribe for ScribeAmerica, I work closely with a physician within the emergency department. My role includes being a personal assistant to the physician in gathering information from patient encounters, monitoring patient lab and imaging results, and entering data into electronic medical records. This experience has allowed me to understand the importance of quality health care as well as to learn about medicine in a clinical setting. My training to become a scribe was very rigorous and my position requires me to think critically and independently. Through my hard work and dedication, I have been promoted to a Certified Floor Trainer position to mentor new scribes and to provide guidance during the training process. I believe that I have learned invaluable knowledge from the physicians I work with that goes beyond what I could learn in the classroom.

While working at the Back Porch Restaurant, I provided an upscale dining experience for small gatherings and large business parties.

As a lab assistant, I provided teaching support for an undergraduate “Human Anatomy” course. I was also responsible for advising students, directing lab sessions, and grading exams.
