This position is similar to the Student Consultant position, but included in-person support at the ID Center. As such, we performed similar duties, as well as assisting with the creation and maintenance of student, staff, and faculty ID cards.

The Contextualization and Commemoration Initiative is charged with honoring Heman Marion Sweatt-- the first Black student to attend UT Austin and plaintiff in the landmark case, Sweatt v. Painter (1950)-- and the Precursors-- the first class of Black undergraduate students to attend UT Austin. - Advised Smith Group and MASS Design Group on best practices for culturally informed research, outreach, and content creation for the East Mall Commemorative Project and Sweatt-Painter Commemorative Project- Planned and executed engagement strategies to maintain student interest in the East Mall and Sweatt-Painter Projects alongside the Executive Director of the Contextualization and Commemoration Initiative

- Provided accurate and timely logging of incidents, requests, and resolutions for problems in the problem management program- Acted as a liaison between customers and internal support staff to assure accurate problem interpretation- Maintained communication with customers during the problem resolution process- Resolved user-reported problems using advanced troubleshooting skills and available tools while following procedures and policies for handling support cases

- Advocated to University of Texas System officials and university administration on behalf of the 21 student councils representing 50,000+ UT students- Facilitated the restructuring of Senate in accordance with new state regulations and university policy changes to ensure that the organization remained accessible and continued its academic advocacy efforts in full following the passage of SB 17- Collaborated with the Undergraduate College to implement recommendations to advising across colleges- Advised state and university leadership during regular monthly meetings by presenting detailed reports featuring statistical analysis related to programs such as microcredentials, accessibility compliance, and international student support

- Facilitated the creation and development of DEI positions and practices within several college councils to expand council membership, update governing documents, and generate impactful initiatives to foster an inclusive culture across the university - Advised university leadership within the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement on best practices to support marginalized students amidst a tumultuous legislative session- Developed trainings and materials to assist college councils with reworking their policies and events to be more inclusive of historically underrepresented student populations

- Led the drafting of the “Proposal to Support the AADS, MALS, NAIS, AAS, and WGS Programs” to provide tangible avenues for increased university support for the Gender, Race, Indigeneity, Disability, and Sexuality programs as co-lead of the Ethnic Studies Advocacy working group- Hosted workshops and published resource guides concerning outreach to identity advocacy organizations, intersectionality, and other topics to foster an inclusive internal culture in collaboration with the Senate DEI Team- Directed a committee of eight members through the planning and execution of several events, including Social Justice Week and a Night with Ethnic and Identity Studies

- Maintained daily communication with 80+ participants and cleaned data for statistical analysis from over 200 participants as a volunteer on the Daily Living Project: Relationships in Quarantine Study- Collaborated with a team of graduate and undergraduate students to code approximately 600 recorded support interactions as a Research Assistant in the Relationship Experiences Across the Lifespan (REAL) lab- Analyzed data from the REAL project and subsequently authored an honors undergraduate thesis under the advisership of Dr. Lisa Neff

- Shadowed Atty. Kobby Warren in trial hearings and various legal proceedings in Dallas and Tarrant County- Assisted paralegal with daily tasks, including maintaining records, communicating highly sensitive information with clients, and e-filing court documents in Dallas, Tarrant, and Denton County

- Transformed learning content into comprehensive presentations, practice materials, and homework assignments for the apprenticeship readiness course- Collaborated with Director to develop a monthly newsletter designed to keep the local community apprised of the apprenticeship test dates in Long Beach county, apprenticeship readiness course dates, and community events- Developed materials for and led a "Zoom 101" teach-in designed to educate students and their families on Zoom and its built-in tools to expand remote learning opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic
