Developed a strategy for assessing the potential for biomass growth and carbon sequestration on abandoned land in the United States as an atmospheric carbon reduction strategy to inform policy decisions in the energy sector. Synthesizing geographic information system software (ArcGIS) with complex climatic and crop yield models I devised a strategy for predicting the total yield of biomass crops and maximum amount of carbon that can be stored in soils on these abandoned lands and trained a team to carry out this prediction strategy.

Within the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department of Colorado School of Mines, worked on an advanced polymers research proof-of-concept project exploring the use of polylactic acid blends to create recyclable, bioplastic windmill turbines. Applied capillary viscometry, dilute solution viscometry, impact testing, extrusion, and injection molding techniques to measure and assess polymer properties.

Worked on a project team to design and assist in the commercialization of a patented application of shear thickening fluids in collaboration with an apparel startup while working in the Metallurgy and Materials Science Department.
