I oversee a diverse team providing program design, education, marketing, and billing technical assistance to approximately 70 sites and 80 diabetes care and education specialists across the state delivering Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES). I manage the recognition requirements of the American Diabetes Association's largest non-healthcare recognized DSMES service. I recruit and onboard additional new sites in underserved areas on the state, and tripled the number of sites in the DiabetesSmart program in less than five years. I support and promote all DSMES services in North Carolina, serve as the Staff Liaison for the Diabetes Advisory Council, and report state diabetes management efforts to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as part of the cooperative agreement.

I provided technical assistance to approximately 30 sites across the state delivering Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support. I maintained records of educators' licenses, certifications, and continuing education, conducted site visits and chart audits to ensure compliance with National Standards, and assisted in the administrative maintenance of American Diabetes Association recognition for all sites in the umbrella program. I recruited and onboarded additional new sites in underserved areas on the state.
