Member of teams to reduce rate of ultrasonic defects in aerospace plate and to reduce incidence of edge cracking during hot rolling of thin sheet. Other projects included using mathematical models to recommend degassers that meet production requirements, assessing impact of distributor bag design on ingot quality, and developing methods to limit metal loss during melting.
